Canada Day Craft: Ribbon Wands

By Shanti Nordholt-McPhee, Twig and Toadstool

With Canada Day just around the corner, we were inspired to create a craft to celebrate!

Fireworks and fun are always in the air on Canada Day, so what better addition to the day than red and white ribbon wands?

These wands whip up in minutes, cost almost nothing to make and are easy for all ages.

You Will Need:

  • a stick
  • red and white ribbon
  • double sided tape
  • scissors

Instructions:

1. Cut long pieces of red and white ribbon for your streamers. We cut three red and three white, but you can make your ribbon wand as full as you like!

2. Wrap the top of your stick with double sided tape and stick on the ribbons.

3. Wrap the top of the stick with double sided tape once more to secure the ribbons, then cover the tape with more ribbon.

There you have it! A wonderful red and white ribbon wand to celebrate Canada Day with!
