Canada Day Wreath Craft for Kids

When it comes to holidays, it is always fun to have kids create their own festive décor. With a few simple supplies, your little ones can craft their very own Canada Day wreath.

What You'll Need:

• a white paper plate
• red tissue paper
• a maple leaf template
• glue
• scissors
• ribbon
• a red crayon
• glitter

How It's Made:

Use a template to draw a maple leaf in the centre of a white paper plate. (If you are really skilled, you can draw one freehand, but I used a template that I printed on my computer.)

Colour the maple leaf using a red crayon.

Outline the maple leaf with glue, pour on glitter and shake off the excess.

Cut the tissue paper into one-inch squares, and use glue to apply it to the outer edge of the paper plate. Older kids can wrap each square around the end of a pencil, dip it in glue and attach it to the plate. Younger children can just crumple the tissue paper, dip it in glue and attach it to the plate.
