Christmas Craft: Twig Santas

Here is a sweet and simple Christmas craft to whip up for the holidays. These make great ornaments or gift toppers.
To make your own you will need:

• a piece of twig (about 10 inches long)
• wooden bead (1 inch in diameter)
• red and black paint and brush
• wool roving or cotton batting
• glue gun and glue stick
• red and white felt
• white or red glitter
• needle and thread

To begin we went out and cut a length of twig, ours was about 10-inches long, but yours can be as long as you wish. Paint it all over with your red paint and while it's still wet sprinkle glitter all over.

Next, paint some eyes on your wooden bead head (one). Glue on your roving, or cotton batting beard and hair with your glue gun (two). Cut out a triangle out of your red felt for a hat (along with some white trim) (three). You will use your wooden bead head as your guide here; wrap the triangle around it to ensure it's big enough. Then glue the trim on the bottom of your triangle (four).

Put a line of glue on the backside of your triangle and fold in half. Now take your hat and glue it on top of your wooden bead head.

Next glue your wooden bead on top of the twig—almost done! Now using a needle and thread, put some string through the very tip of your hat, tie the ends in a knot and ta dah! A sweet twig Santa ornament!

These ornaments are sure to add some sparkle to your Christmas tree.
