Lowercase Letter Craft: r is for Rain

Lowercase letters are taking over momstown's alphabet crafts and Alphabet Play programs this spring! Kids can practice letter sounds with our creative take on lower case r ... r is for rain!

What you need:

  • scissors
  • foamy paper or green construction paper
  • construction paper
  • beads
  • white glue

Directions:
1. Use foamy paper (if you have it, or construction paper) to make grass by cutting fringes into the paper. This is great scissor practice as only small cuts are required.

2. Cut out shapes for clouds, as well as a lowercase "r." Glue onto construction paper to form a rainy day scene, with grass at the bottom and clouds at the top.

3. Now it's time to make it rain! Use white glue to apply beads onto the page to create raindrops. Picking up and placing the beads is a great way for kids to practice fine motor skills - and the beads can go anywhere!
