Easy Evening Routine Jar (+ Printable!)

We’ve been rocking our mornings with the help of our morning routine jar, but our evenings haven’t been quite as efficient or easy, and so an evening routine jar was in order! I love little tools like this. They give kiddos a clear visual of what has been done and what needs to be done while helping them stay focused. They also encourage independence, which in my books is always a win!

To make an evening routine jar of your own, you’ll need:

  • evening craft stick labels printable (click and open to print)
  • pencil crayons
  • scissors
  • 9 large craft sticks
  • a glue stick
  • a small jar or cup
  • clear sticky tape (optional)

Alright, now let’s get started! If you previously put together a morning routine jar of your own, well you’re already a pro and probably really don’t need any instructions. If not, I promise it’s super simple and doable for all. Start off by clicking the image below to print!

Next, invite your little one to colour the pictures.

Child colours in the printable.

Cut out each label just inside the grey dotted-lines so that they’ll fit perfectly onto your large craft sticks. This can be a job for you or a job for your little one — your choice!

Icons and Done tabs are cut with scissors.

With the labels coloured, cut out, and ready to go, use a glue stick to adhere the task labels to the tops of your craft sticks and the ‘DONE’ labels on the bottoms of the sticks. For extra durability, you can wrap the labelled portion of the sticks with clear sticky tape — up to you.

Now just pop the sticks into your jar or cup task side up and you’re ready to go! As your little one completes their tasks in the evening, they will simply flip the sticks over until all of the ‘DONE’ labels are facing up and it’s time to drift off to dreamland.

Here’s to easy and efficient evening routines!
