Easy Gift: DIY Magnetic Bean Frames

Today we're going to craft up a pretty picture frame using our paper recycling and dried beans.

To make your own you will need:

• piece of cardboard, (like from a cereal box)
• dried beans: lentils, kidney beans, pintos, split peas, etc.
• white glue
• 2 round magnets
• glue gun and glue stick

To begin make your template. We took a frame we already had and traced around it.

Cut around your pattern, and cut out the inside too (where your picture will go).
Now gather your crafting supplies. I put my beans in cupcake liners to keep them all separate.

Put down a thick line of white glue and lay your beans on top. Be generous with your glue—it will dry almost clear.
Make a pretty pattern if you want.

Let it dry for at least an hour before the next step.

Glue on your magnets, one on each side. We used a glue gun for this for the durability. Big round magnets work best. If you are using anything smaller, you may have to glue on more than a couple.

Tape your photo into place on the back.
And put your pretty picture frame on your fridge for everyone to admire. (That pretty pug in the picture is our new puppy Ginger Rogers!!)
