Easy No-Sew Costumes: Salmon Sushi

So, you're ready to make your own salmon sushi costume. Here is all you need to know.

What You'll Need

• a faux grass mat
• a pink-ish coloured towel
• a white towel
• white ribbon
• green felt
• hot glue gun
• scissors

How it's Made

1. Making the rice

Cut your towel to the desired size of your sushi costume. Use the hot glue to stick edges together to create a little pillow. Leave an opening and stuff this pillow with the leftover fabric. Use the glue gun to seal it shut. 
 

2. Making the salmon

Using the size of your rice pillow as your guide, fold your pink-ish coloured towel in half and cut an oval fish shape. Take your hot glue gun and glue around the edges of your fish (leave an opening). Stuff the salmon with leftover fabric. Use the glue gun to seal it shut.
 

3. Putting it together

Cut a thin strip out of your green felt, and use this as a piece of seaweed to wrap around your salmon and rice. Hot glue it in place. To adhere this costume to your child, you can choose to put it on their back, or on their front. Both options are adorable. For a permanent costume, you can hot-glue this to a long sleeve shirt or sweater (not while the child is wearing it, of course). Or you can use duct tape or safety pins.

Now your little piece of salmon sushi is ready (and warm enough) to go trick-or-treating, all for under $25!
