Halloween Face Paint: 5 Easy Steps to Turn Your Kid into a Spooky Vampire
CBC Kids Staff
Oct 26, 2018
Many schools across Canada won't let kids wear masks for Halloween. Sometimes this is a fact parents can forget all about until they come across a paper that their kids were sent home with a month before. And then it's a last-minute scramble to come up with a great idea that follows all the rules. It sounds stressful, and it is. But it doesn't have to be! This Halloween, think outside the mask with creative face paint ideas. We picked three popular costume ideas (tiger, unicorn and vampire) that don't need a mask to look spectacular. With the help of a face painter, we designed looks that look complicated but are anything but — each look only takes five steps and requires minimal, affordable materials (with the exception of the makeup, we got everything from a dollar store). This one covers vampires!
What you'll need
- Tulip 11-colour paint palette
- Nylon brushes
- Triangular makeup sponges
- Spray bottle (for water)
- Cup (to clean brushes)
- Cloth (to dry brushes)
How it's done
- Using a triangular sponge, paint the entire face with white paint.
- With a brush, add fangs to the mouth.
- Use a round brush to create a V-shaped hairline and furry brows.
- Paint to fill in lips, outline fangs, cheeks and hairline.
- Lastly, add the drops of blood.
