Tutorial: Make Perfect Dandelion Crowns

Spring is here! The sun is warm and setting much later, the grass is green again, the trees are flowering, and the dandelions are everywhere! I have been gifted many a bouquet of these happy little weeds already this season, as I am sure you have been also. Today we took advantage of the plethora of dandelions growing close to our house. We gathered as many as we could carry and brought them home for a special project.

We were going to make ourselves some pretty yellow dandelion crowns. This is a great project for the school-aged child. It is great for fine-motor control, eye-hand coordination, and following a pattern of instructions. Once your child learns to weave these little blossoms together, you will have no shortage of pretty yellow crowns, I assure you.

Now continue to repeat the four previous steps until you've reached the desired length.

My 9-year-old daughter was busy at the table for over an hour, happily weaving these little yellow weeds into crowns for herself and the children in my daycare...
