Make Napkin Man from Perler Beads (Template)

Napkin Man is here for you! Everyone loves the hero from The Adventures of Napkin Man. As the hand-drawn alter ego of Kindergarten teacher Mr. Anthony (Yannick Bisson), and with his helpful way of helping preschoolers to identify and manage emotions, what's not to love?

Make your kids their very own 8-bit Napkin Man using Perler fusable beads. When he's finished, this little guy can be made into a fridge magnet, can be pinned to backpacks or jackets, can be displayed in a little frame or simply played with as is.

You'll need:

• Perler beads: purple (2), green (4), dark brown (5), beige (8), yellow (11), blue (15), white (59)
• parchment paper
• pegboard (at least 8 pegs x 13 pegs )
• iron

Using the template (found at the bottom of the post), lay out your Napkin Man. Kids can help with colour selection, colour sorting and, if they have the fine motor skills, laying out the design. 

Cover your work with parchment paper and preheat a dry iron to medium heat. Keeping your iron level, gently iron your design in a circular motion for about 20 seconds. 

Allow to cool, and peel off the paper. Flip your design over, cover with paper again and iron the other side to fuse evenly.Here's the template for the Perler bead design. Kids can print this out and use it to keep track of the beads required.
