Simple and Lovely Egg Carton Bouquet

Now that spring is in full bloom, we thought it fitting to make a colourful craft that will bring joy to the flower lover in your life.

These flowers are simple to make and best of all they will last a long time.

What You'll Need

• egg cartons
• scissors
• wooden skewers
• food colouring
• paint & paint brushes
• colourful paper (optional)
• buttons (optional)
• glue gun and glue sticks

How It's Made

To begin, cut flower shapes out of your egg cartons. We made a variety of flower shapes with ours.

Then take your bamboo skewers and put them in a green food colouring bath. We used about 1/2 a bottle of food colouring to get our skewers nice and green. (We let them soak for about 15 minutes, then drained them and placed them on a few pieces of paper towel to dry.)

Now time to paint your flowers. You have so many options here: you can paint them one solid colour; paint the tops one colour, the bottoms another… Let your imagination run wild.

If you want a super colourful option, we cut out little circles of scrapbook paper (we used a quarter as a template).

Then, using a gluestick, we glued on the paper and some colourful buttons. (This is an optional step, really let your imagination lead you.)

Then, using your glue gun, put a dab of glue on the bottom of your flower. You'll have to hold your skewer in place for a few seconds.
