Simple DIY Halloween Craft: Ghost Bunting

BY DYAN ROBSON, AND NEXT COMES L

I love decorating our house for different holidays using kid-made decorations and this easy Halloween ghost bunting craft is our latest Halloween decoration idea. It's super cute, but simple. And I love that it uses inexpensive materials that you can either pick up at the dollar store or that you likely already have on hand.

So, if you are looking for a quick, non-spooky idea for decorating this Halloween, then this Halloween ghost bunting is perfect!

Here's what you'll need for this easy Halloween craft:

  • styrofoam cups
  • black permanent marker
  • string, yarn or ribbon
  • tape

First you'll need your child(ren) to create and design their own ghosts by drawing the ghost's face onto some styrofoam cups with the permanent marker.

Your kids may choose to draw regular ghost faces or maybe they'll get creative and draw some fun expressions. You could even offer them extra supplies such as glitter glue or other colours of markers. My youngest, however, loves black (it's his favorite colour!) so he was content to just draw regular ghost expressions. Although he did draw a couple of cups with square shaped mouths and eyes.

Once the cups have been transformed into not-so-spooky ghosts, then you can turn it into a simple DIY Halloween bunting. Tape the top of each cup to a piece of string, yarn, or ribbon. Then proudly hang the finished bunting in the location of your choice.

I love the simplicity of this ghost bunting and it's a cute addition to our collection of homemade Halloween decorations! My five-year old only wanted to draw four ghosts for his bunting, but I think it looks adorable.
