Snow Rainbows

Looking for a super-easy outdoor winter activity? Try painting rainbows in the snow!

It's a great way to inspire kids to get outside and to brighten up the white canvas that surrounds you.

What You'll Need:

  • snow
  • markers
  • spray bottle filled with water
  • four twigs (optional)

Markers, twigs and a spray bottle full of water.

How It's Made:

1. Bundle up and head outside into the cool, fresh air. Find a clean area and brush off the top layer of fluffy snow — you want a firmer layer of snow, one that feels like a crust.

2. Take your markers and draw a rainbow in the snow.

3. Take the spray bottle and spray water onto the rainbow. Watch as it magically melts the colors together to make the rainbow glow!

4. Gather up four twigs to frame your masterpiece, if you'd like.

5. Leave your rainbow to freeze and bring some big, beautiful color to winter!
