St. Patrick’s Day Craft: Rainbow Wands
By Maureen Macmillan, Twig and Toadstool
Mar 11, 2014
To celebrate St Paddy's day, we decided to make a rainbow-inspired wand. After all, wands possess all sorts of powers--think we'll use ours to make a pot of gold appear!
You Will Need:
- a 12-inch piece of dowel
- paint in rainbow colours
- ribbon in rainbow colours
- green felt
- scissors
- glue gun and glue
Instructions:
To start, paint your dowel in all the colours of the rainbow. This takes a bit of patience, but the end result is fantastic.
Then take your ribbon and cut it into two-foot lengths. Using your glue gun, glue the ribbon to the top of your dowel.
Next, take your felt and cut out two shamrock shapes. If I don't know how to cut the shape, you can use a Google image search to help: type "shamrock template" into the search bar and you'll come up with a great variety to choose from.
Glue the felt shamrocks to the top of your wand (front and back) and let the magic begin!
