There’s something about winter that is just so beautiful—but man, it can be cold too.
When it’s just too cold to get outside and play, we like to craft a little bit of winter inside.
This winter birch tree painting was fun to make and kept the kiddos busy on a cold winter’s day.
You Will Need:
- watercolour paper
- watercolour paints, water and brush

Instructions:
1. Grab a piece of watercolour paper and, using a thin paint brush and black watercolour paint, paint thin black lines all over your paper. Allow to dry.
2. Grab another piece of watercolour paper and cover the paper with your favourite watercolour paint colours. Allow it to dry as well.
3. Take your sheet of painted black lines and cut out long tree shapes and thin branches. Glue these to a piece of cardstock paper.
4. Grab your sheet of paper with all the colours of paint and cut out two bird shapes, two wings, two beaks and four legs. Glue these to your cardstock paper.
5. To make this a more wintery scene, glue some white snowflakes to the paper. You can either cut these out of white paper, or if you have a hole punch, grab some paper dots from the punch.
This winter birch tree painting is so pretty, you’ll want to proudly display it all winter long.
Have fun and happy crafting! Enjoy!
