Blue Jays to face Rangers in opening round of MLB playoffs

The Toronto Blue Jays, who clinched their first American League East title in 22 years, will begin their opening round on Thursday at Rogers Centre against the Texas Rangers.

The Toronto Blue Jays dominate the Baltimore Orioles 15-2 and celebrate their first title in 22 years.

The Toronto Blue Jays will start their first playoff run in 22 years on Thursdayat the Rogers Centre against the American League West-champion Texas Rangers.

The Blue Jays clinched the American League East title on Wednesday, but were unable to secure home-field advantage for the entire should they go past their round with Texas.

Since clinching the East, Toronto went1-4 in their lastfive games, while theCentral-winning Kansas City Royals won five straight to conclude the season and lock up the top spot in the American League.

The Blue Jays will have home-field advantage for the American League Divisional Series against the Rangers.
