Senators make pair of minor deals on deadline day

It was a mostly stand-pat NHL trade deadline day for the Ottawa Senators on Monday, as they made two deals that netted them a third-round pick in this summer's draft and a minor league forward.

It was a mostly stand-pat NHL trade deadline dayfor the Ottawa Senators, who made a pair of minor deals on Monday.

The team sent forward Shane Prince and a 2016 seventh-rounddraftpick to the New York Islandersfor a third-round pick in this summer's entry draft.

Prince, 23,has three goals and 13 points in 44 career NHL games.

Earlier in the day, the Senators sent defencemanConor Allen to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forwardMichael Keranen.

Allen had arrived tothe Senators organization in a deal with the Nashville Predators in January, and had been assigned to Ottawa'sAHL affiliate in Binghamton.

Keranen only has one career NHL game under his belt and was with the Wild's AHL affiliate in Iowa.
