Hockey Night In Canada in Punjabi returns on CBC

CBC's Hockey Night In Canada in Punjabi returns Saturday with an all-Canadian doubleheader.

Harnarayan Singh is back in the booth to call the play-by-play as the Vancouver Canucks visit the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m. ET and the Edmonton Oilers travel south to Calgary to resume the Battle of Alberta at 10 p.m. ET.

It will also be streamed live and available on demand atCBCSports.ca/hnicpunjabi.

CBC's Hockey Night In Canada in Punjabi, presented by Chevrolet, will have two games every Saturday during the regular season and one series in each round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Hockey Night In Canada in Punjabi, presented by Chevrolet, is available free on the dial at Rogers Cable (channel 799), Shaw Digital TV (328), TELUS Optik TV (131) and on Bell Satellite TV and Bell FIBE TV (232).

According to Statistics Canada, Punjabi is the fourth most spoken language in Canada.

Harnarayan Singh became the first Canadian broadcaster to provide live analysis in Punjabi on Hockey Night In Canada when he covered each game of the Stanley Cup final in 2008.

In addition to his duties with Hockey Night In Canada, Singh is a reporter with CBC Calgary, a mortgage agent and an accomplished musician, playing the Tabla and Harmonium and performing in front of large audiences on numerous occasions across Canada, the United States and India.

He has accompanied some of the world's most famous Sikh musicians as a vocalist and percussionist.
