Mac Marcoux burst onto the IPC World Cup scene in 2013 when, at just 15 years old, hescored three World Cup podium finishes, earned a silver medal in giant slalom at theworld championships in La Molina, Spain, and became the national slalom and giantslalom champion.

Marcoux races in the visually impaired category as one of the youngestcompetitors on the IPC World Cup circuit and is guided by his older brother, Billy JoeMarcoux.

The close-knit brothers, from Sault-Ste Marie, Ont., used to go-cart race competitively untilMac lost his vision to a degenerative condition. Inspired by Canadas McKeever brothers, the pair took their need for speed to the ski hill and havent looked back.

The duo had noprevious experience skiing with radio communication or as a pair, but they learned together
and are quickly making their mark as one of the top medal-winners for Canada.

Marcoux is also a BMX bike enthusiast and spends his free time fishing, four-wheeling, or atthe stock car track. Dont tell his mom, but he sometimes mountain bikes in Whistler with aguide using the same radio communication techniques as on the ski hill.
