Canada's para-cycling team set for Rio

Cycling Canada has announced 12 para-cyclist six men and six women who will represent Canada at RioParalympic Games.

The team is comprised of London 2012 Paralympic Games medallist Robbi Weldon, who took gold in the road race, and Marie-Claude Molnar, who won bronze in the time trial.

Filling out Canada's veteran core is Daniel Chalifour (with his third career Games nomination), and world champions Shelley Gautier and Marie-ve Croteau.

Joining them will be national team rookie and world champion Tristen Chernove.

Chernove took the para-cycling world by storm with double gold at the world track championships in March, and two victories at the World Cup in May.

In total, Canada will be sending four world champions to Rio: Chernove, Weldon, Gautier and Croteau.

The Paralympic Games are set for Sept.7 to18.
