Apple fixes iTunes broken by Windows Vista

Users of Apple Inc.'s iTunes software for Windows PCs who couldn't wait to install Microsoft's new Vista version of the operating system had a rude awakening when they found they couldn't play songs they had bought from the online store. They were warned.
Those who chose to ignore Apple's Jan. 26 caution that "iTunes Store purchases may not play when upgrading to Windows Vista from Windows 2000 or XP" and that they should wait "until after the next release of iTunes which will be available in the next few weeks" won a reprieve on Thursday when Apple released an iTunes patch for Vista.
Apple enthusiasts everywhere must be grinning gleefully with a simpler solution: Get a Mac.

I don't understand why Mac users are so willing to die for thier computer. Compare a Mac to a PC used by someone who really knows how to use a computer, and it falls behind. Reason? Because Mac's are not easily upgraded/modified to fit a specific user's needs. I can put together a PC that kicks any Mac's a** and still spend less than it would cost to buy a new Mac

The real question is: Why do you listen to this overcompressed/terribly reproduced garbage in the first place. The MP3 format should be outlawed as it is a crime against music. WMA isn't much better, either. I see folks with these little earplugs socked into their own sockets, and despair. Isn't music a unifying force? Why do we seem to want to isolate ourselves and stay in our vacuum-sealed worlds? What ever happened to 'listening parties'? Friends getting together to listen to the latest music from an artist? OK . . . I feel better now.

What a silly comparison Ben. I hope you're not one of those who claim to really know how to use a computer. Maybe you should start looking into the fine print, or at least proper spending habits. You can also buy a really cheap car, put in some cheap upgrades and get "more of a car" than a higher priced vehicle. Does that mean that you'll get a better user experience? Macs have never claimed to be better than PC's, they market themselves on ease of use, security and user experience. As far as pricing, they have competitive prices, and you don't have to buy additional security, parts, cameras... they simply work. Over a 2 year span you'll spend more upgrading, securing and modifying you PC than the original price of the MAC. I use both, and spend 80% less time troubleshooting the MAC than the PC. And any troubleshooting I've ever done on the MAC has been third party software related... I think my point is made.

Gee Saleem, are you objectively reporting the news or marketing for Mac? I don't care what Mac enthusiasts think! Just give me the facts.

I agree. The fact that this post is itself an adverisement for Macs only angers and disappoints me. The link to their store goes a bit overboard. The author's mind has been made up, and no amount of fixes will reverse that.
