G20 Summit Toronto

Talking G20 at the chip truck

Here's a tip - if you live or work near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and you've got an urge to go down to a hot dog stands and scarf down a delicious steaming tube of processed meat, act on it.

Because as of tomorrow, street vendors are verboten in the security zones south of King Street as the city prepares for the G20 summit. That's a 2 1/2-week layoff.

So I went down to a chip truck outside the convention centre to ask one of the affected merchants how he's dealing with his unplanned vacation.

The vendor, John Horvath, was an affable type, but he didn't hold back when he spoke about the effect the summit would have on his business.
