"90210" co-star Ian Ziering, who played the son of Jed Allan's Rush Sanders, said "he was a great guy to work with."
The actors appeared in "Beverly Hills, 90210" together in the '90s and were friends ever since.
The actor, who died on Monday, was described as a mentor to the young cast members.
Sophie Perry, 18, wrote a refreshingly honest note about dealing with the outpouring of condolences.
Perry's "90210" co-star said the two shared a "special kind of love."
The actors met on a flight where the "Beverly Hills, 90210 star made some children very happy.
