Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke handed down the sentence after hearing from one of Hussles friends and listening to a letter from Holders father that was read in court.
"He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way," the NBA star said in a statement.

A Los Angeles prosecutor says the killing of Nipsey Hussle was premeditated by a man charged with fatally shooting the Grammy Award-winning rapper outside his clothing store three years ago.

After he was shot dead, fans of rapper Nipsey Hussle remembered all that he did for the South L.A. community.
On her radio show, Laura Inghram bashed Republicans for dealing with tax cuts but not illegal immigration.
"Grief and healing have been constant companions on this journey," the actor said about grieving the rapper and activist who was killed two years ago.
The ceremony took place virtually instead of at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, where it was held last year.
The late rapper and community activist was fatally shot on March 31, 2019, outside of his Los Angeles store, Marathon Clothing.
In todays celebrity-driven culture, it has become easier and often cathartic to collectively mourn beloved Black icons.
