Today in surprises we already knew about: Justin Timberlake will release a follow-up to "The 20/20 Experience" later this year. The second album, titled "The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2," will land in stores on Sept. 30.

"Take Back the Night," the album's lead single, premiered Friday on YouTube. Fans who pre-order the second Timberlake album are able to download the song now.

I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago," Timberlake said in press materials announcing the album. "But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs there were so many that I loved - I couldn't resist... I had to throw in something extra on the 2nd half."

The first installment of "The 20/20 Experience" was produced by Timbaland and Timberlake and sold nearly 1 million copies during its first week. It remains the year's biggest seller .

The Roots' drummer and all-around music everyman Questlove previously hinted at Timberlake's second album , though it was thought to be being readied for a November release. It was also originally supposed to be another 10 songs (10 on the first + 10 on the second = the 20/20 in "20/20 Experience), but, as stated above, Timberlake "couldn't resist" adding a 21st track.

Timberlake and collaborator-producer Timbaland have stayed busy since "The 20/20 Experience" was released. Timbaland produced the vast majority of Jay-Z's recently released album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," on which Timberlake is a featured vocalist.
