I am an avid reader since I was a child. I also like to play games and read the news. I can do all of that on the fire with great picture quality. I love that the touch screen never fails me. But the best thing about it is I can adjust the size of everything, even apps if they are set right, which most are. I am visually impaired, so this is important. I searched for the right device years ago and have stuck to it. Even my kids and grandkids love their kindles. This week I bought a new kindle fire 8 to replace the old one that I gave to my sister. But the text on my books would not enlarge like I was used to. I called customer service disabled and talked to Mike. He was helpful and showed me the hidden control for enlarging text. Got this for the wife, she had a different tablet for a long time and it finally died. Picked this one up for her and all her books transfered over shes had from the other tablet. But with this one she has access to a book club that is free and gets alot more books to read. She likes this tablet as much as she liked the other. I recommend this tablet, its a value at this price and stores alot of books. Can play games, check email, peruse the internet all using wifi. Is not connected to the internet other than through wifi, NO monthly Subcriptions required. Get one today  Nevada Marine  

 

I recently decided to separate my (Kindle/Audible) book collection into categories of career and leisure. I use my 10 Kindle to read research, but the smaller device is actually more comfortable for me without sacrificing performance. I couldnt be more happy with the outcome!  C. M. Crisel

 

Perfect for my 4 1/2 yr old. The parental controls are great and the apps are kid friendly without all of the ads consistently interrupting them like they do on other devices. My only con is you cannot use the Google play store to purchase games, still very happy with this purchase ! This tablet was an upgrade for me and my spouse is utilizing my older version. The screen is very clear and easy to adjust to accommodate for eye strain. I would highly recommend this version as I have small hand and the larger tablets weight too much and really are not of any additional benefit. Additionally, I have the Kindle Unlimited membership and I am NEVER without something to read. Great product. PAScrappy
