Behold the awesome might of weather!

Photographer and storm chaser Stephen Locke captured the advent of a thunderstorm Aug. 29 in Kansas City, Missouri, and created a time-lapse video of the meteorological event. It's both mesmerizing and ominous.

His footage of the arcus cloud -- a low, horizontal cloud mass that forms the outside edge of an oncoming thunderstorm -- as it makes its way through the sleepy city at night will remind you just how awe-inspiring nature can be.
