What if you could know the future of your health -- what diseases you might get and how you might die? Would you want to know even if you couldn't change it? And if you could change it for your self, or your children, would you? Or would that be changing who you are, how you were created, and what it means to be human?

These are just some of the questions that have driven the extraordinary career of Dr. Robert Klitzman , whose work is concentrated at the intersection of ethics, spirituality and medicine.

Dr. Klitzman is a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University, where he is also the Director of the Masters of Bioethics Program. He is the author of six books including The Trembling Mountain, The Ethics Police, When Doctors Become Patients and Am I My Genes? Confronting Fate and Family Secrets in the Age of Genetic Testing.

The ALL TOGETHER podcast is dedicated to exploring ethics religion and spiritual practice in daily life. It is produced by Katelyn Boguki, edited by Nicholas Offenberg, and sound engineered by Brad Shannon. You can download on iTunes , or Stitcher .
