The report in January "was a little before its time," according to the actor.

Contrary to the widely shared statement by “Arrested Development” executive producer Brian Grazer earlier this year, a deal with Netflix for a fifth season of the Emmy-winning show does not appear to be imminent.

Grazer told Deadline near the beginning of 2017 that he believed a contract would be finalized “within a couple of weeks at the most.” At the time, he also said to The Wrap , “All of the actors have agreed to do it and I think they’ve agreed to their compensation structure ... It should be happening soon.”

While talking to actor Jeffrey Tambor (George Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth) about his upcoming Super Bowl ad , The Huffington Post also asked if any progress had materialized in the last couple weeks.

Tambor said in reference to Grazer’s statement, “I think that was a little before its time. Bryan Grazer is a true fan and gets excited, but stay tuned on that one, OK?”

Netflix plans to spend $6 billion on new shows this year, so there does appear to still be money in the banana stand. Tambor didn’t elaborate on what is causing the holdup though. A rep for Grazer told HuffPost that they have no news regarding the show yet, “but as soon as we do it will be announced.”
