Designer Bruce Oldfield is the frontrunner in the guessing game of who will design Kate Middleton's wedding dress, WWD reports .

Irish bookie Paddy Power told the fashion newspaper that the odds are 1-3 Oldfield and that betting has been put on hold thanks to a "flurry of big-stake bets" of more than 500, or $780. A spokesperson said, "We saw this pattern of royal wagers with the venue and the date and they both proved correct. Although we didn't expect a betting plunge on the dress designer to happen quite so soon, when the stakes changed from fivers and tenners to hundreds of pounds, it appears as though the cat is out of the bag."

Oldfield told WWD last month, "If I was lucky enough to be asked, I'd be delighted." And when we polled on which designer Kate should wear, Bruce Oldfield won. Coincidence? Well, that remains to be seen.
