Update: Roitfeld spoke to the New York Times' Cathy Horyn. She remarked:

"I had so much freedom to do everything I wanted. I think I did a good job." But she added, "When everything is good, maybe I think it's the time to do something else." She expects to complete issues through March. She said she was not sure what she would do after that. "I have no plan at all," she said.

Previously: French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld is leaving the magazine, according to a news post on vogue.fr . Her departure will be effective in several weeks and she hopes to pursue personal projects. She has been with the magazine for 10 years.

French Vogue writes (and we translated): "Under her leadership, Vogue Paris became a worldwide reference and a can't-miss magazine. Carine Roitfeld gave the magazine a new dimension, with an audacious attitude in collaboration with the biggest photographers in the world."

President of Cond Nast international told vogue.fr , "Carine left a mark on the history of Vogue Paris thanks to her incredible talent as a stylist and editor-in-chief." And President of Cond Nast France Xavier Romatet remarked, "Of course, I regret Carine's decision, even if I understand it. One page turns and a new step begins for this solid and powerful brand that is sure of its values."

Roitfeld's replacement has not yet been named.
