Remember that Vogue Paris interview in which Carla Bruni offhandedly remarked, "My generation doesn't need feminism" ? Yeah, turns out that quote wasn't simply a mistake in editing -- in fact, Carla Bruni edited the issue herself.

Bruni, France's former first lady, guest-edited Vogue Paris' December/January double issue . News about her new editor gig got out last month ; but with the issue out on newsstands (and those controversial quotes floating around the Internet), we can piece it all together. Carla gave an interview to Arthur Dreyfus for the magazine, in which she dropped those much-discussed lines ("My generation doesn't need feminism... I'm not at all an active feminist. On the contrary, I'm a bourgeois...") that she's since apologized for .

She also returned to her old modeling ways , posing for Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in the most Parisian of styles (a floppy felt hat, a striped shirt) and reuniting with old model pals Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington.

A supermodel reunion, a high-profile cover and a widely-read interview touching on hot button topics? Come to think of it, being a magazine editor might not be a bad post-lyse Palace gig for Bruni. Girl knows what she's doing.
