In 2012, The Huffington Post garnered a fair amount of attention for our dedicated coverage of the phenomenon known as "sideboob."

What can we say? We don't make the trends and we certainly didn't tell any of the celebrities who flashed some serious sideboob this year to do so (note: sideboob is always serious) .

We can tell you that the Internet loves sideboob. The Internet loves sideboob almost as much as it loves cats. We know this and we have the data to back it up , but for those of you who don't know, sideboob refers to the side of a woman's breast that is purposely peeking out of a loose fitting shirt or dress. Because we didn't want to discriminate, we have also included the the side of the breast exposed by an extremely low-cut neckline, akin to the dress Jennifer Lopez infamously wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards.

2012 was definitely the year of sideboob, but there are only so many ways one can show off their curves without showing us everything. Celebrities like to keep things fresh so perhaps 2013 will be the year of underboob ? We guess we'll just have to wait and see.
