Chuck Woolery: Republicans Never Did Anything Nasty To Black People

Yeah, no.

Chuck Woolery, former gameshow host of “Love Connection” and self-professed “Hollywood Conservative”  does not believe that the Republican party has ever done anything “nasty” to black people.

The 75-year-old, who currently hosts a political podcast called “Blunt Force Truth,” tweeted on Friday:

Woolery was quickly called out by some social media users, including actor Ethan Embry, who tweeted an NPR article  about the racist past of the Republican party, including its overwhelming opposition to Civil Rights legislation like the Voting Rights Act in the 1960s

To be clear, both Republican and Democratic politicians have enacted policies and behaviors that have negatively impacted black people and other people of color. But that doesn’t change the fact that declarations such as Woolery’s should most certainly be called out and corrected.
