Americans are losing confidence in federal guidance about the coronavirus, a new HuffPost/YouGov poll finds.

Just 37% of Americans say theyre either very or somewhat confident that the U.S. governments statements about the coronavirus are reliable and accurate, while about half, 52%, say theyre either not very or not at all confident in what the government is saying.

Similarly, only one-third of the public expresses any confidence in President Donald Trump s statements about the disease, with a 56% majority expressing little or no confidence. The governments overall approval rating for handling the coronavirus is also underwater, as is Trumps own rating on the issue.
