Democrats Taunt Trump With Messages On His Own Building In Chicago

Hes a grifter and nothing we said wasnt the truth! a DNC spokesperson told the Daily Beast.

Chicagos Trump Tower was lit up on Sunday with some messages that likely irked its owner.

The missives projected onto Donald Trump s skyscraper hotel include Trump-Vance weird as hell, Harris Walz fighting for you and Project 2025 HQ, in a reference to the extreme conservative policy blueprint  for a second Trump administration that the Republican nominee has been seeking to distance himself from.

The Democratic National Committee confirmed to several media organizations it was responsible for the stunt. The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago on Monday.

Party operatives booked a room across the street from the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago to display the slogans with a high-powered projector, Rolling Stone reported .

Tonight, everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have proven records of delivering for working families, and now, theyre running to lead our country into a brighter future, DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman said in a statement .

Hes a grifter and nothing we said wasnt the truth! Rahman also told the Daily Beast .

President Joe Biden is slated to give the keynote address at the DNC Monday night, making the case for Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him as he gets ready to ends a five-decade career in public service. Harris is scheduled to speak Thursday, when she will formally accept the Democratic nomination.

Trump has a jam-packed campaign schedule this week as he seeks to counter the DNC and regain his footing in the wake of a chaotic month following Bidens exit from the race.
