Derek Jeter did it his way, to the tune of five world championships.

Jeter's farewell season is into its final stretch, and now Gatorade has become the latest brand to show its gratitude to the longtime Yankees captain. The 90-second spot tracks Jeter as he strolls the streets around Yankee Stadium, surprising and thanking fans. Jeter lovers might find themselves a little dusty after watching it; Yankees haters might be left clutching their stomachs.

Interestingly, Jeter played an active role in the development of the spot by suggesting the premise as well as the iconic Sinatra song that scores it, according to Adweek .
