Donald Trump Releases Results Of His Physical

Donald Trump  on Thursday released the results of his latest physical in a letter from his doctor, Dr. Harold Bornstein. It appears to be the same document Trump presented to Dr. Mehmet Oz on Wednesday during a taping of the show “Dr. Oz.” 

Bornstein’s letter says that Trump weighs 236 pounds, and it includes results from his most recent blood test.

“Cholesterol 169, HDL cholesterol 63, LDL cholesterol 94, triglycerides 61, PSA 0.15, blood pressure 116/70, blood sugar 99 and C Reactive Protein UQ 0/7,” Bornstein writes. “His liver function and thyroid function are all within the normal range.”

Bornstein concludes by saying that the candidate is in “excellent physical health,” noting that Trump’s parents “lived into their late 80s and 90s.” 

The letter is the latest chapter in a back-and-forth between Trump and his opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton , which has taken on the tone of a contest to see who can release the most medical information showing them fit and healthy. Trump is 70, while Clinton is 68. The eventual president would be (or would tie with) the oldest individual to take office.

After Trump taped the Dr. Oz interview Wednesday morning, Clinton released a letter from her doctor containing new details about her recent bout of pneumonia. Trump’s campaign then promised to release the results of the GOP nominee’s latest physical to the public, rather than just discussing them with the controversial doctor and daytime TV host.

The full interview with Oz will air Thursday afternoon, but clips show Trump saying he wants to lose 15-20 pounds, but finds it hard to get exercise on the campaign trail.
