RNC Plea To Thank Trump's Commitment To Religious Freedom' Backfires

The Republican National Committee faced a Twitter backlash on Thursday after it asked folks to share a tweet thanking President Donald Trump for his “commitment to religious freedom.”

The RNC tweeted a photograph of Trump at Thursday’s National Day of Prayer event alongside a quote from his speech in the White House Rose Garden.

The irony of the committee’s request was not lost on tweeters, however, who were quick to call out Trump for his often unchristian actions and derogatory comments about Muslims:
