Elisabeth Hasselbeck stopped by HuffPost Live on Monday to talk to host Abby Hunstman aboutthe Active Family Project , Republican politics and those rumors that she was fired from "The View."

But the mom of daughter Grace and sons Taylor and Isaiah had a lot to say about the importance of spending time and being active with your family. "This world isn't going to carve out time for your family to be together," said Hasselbeck. "Everyone has their i-this, i-that," joking that sometimes, mysteriously, an email gets forwarded from her device that she doesn't know about.

Video commenter Jill, a stay-at-home mom who is returning to work in the fall, asked Hasselbeck how to maintain a work-life balance as well as her sanity.

"You can start great habits right away," Hasselbeck counseled. "Sometimes you look up after a decade or almost two of having your kids at home and...you kind of lose control over how you really envision the long-term. You deal day-to-day and you're in the trenches as a new mom, [so early on is] ultimately a great way for you to start great habits."

Huntsman asked if it's a matter of writing to-do lists.

"Here's a dangerous thing about a to-do list: it can be a big failure list at the end of the day if you don't cross it off. Now, I need a list, but there are days that my expectations are not realistic...I'm a great to-do list writer...[but] I am ultimately going to fail on the days that my to-do list is great because I'm not capable of doing all that."

Hasselbeck concluded by saying, "At the end of the day if you have said 'I ran around with my family, with my kids, we got some things done, but what matters was checked off,' then it's a good day. You're not going to get it all done."
