Often times, moms ask me how can they find a full-time (no freelance) job working from home with a college degree and how I found my online teaching job.

For me personally, I think it was luck. I was not actually looking for an online job. I was simply looking for a full-time teaching job. Then it just so happened that it was actually online, which turned out great because a few days after they gave me a job offer, I found out I was pregnant with baby #2. Needless to say, I did not have to go anywhere during my pregnancy except for doctor's appointments.

There are many options for moms with a college degree. It just depends on what you are looking for and the kind of degree you have.

Lets look into a few options:

Tons of websites/online companies these days are looking for online tutors. Although I believe you may have to start on a part-time basis, some will offer a full-time position after a while. Just be careful when dealing with Craigslistlots of scam artists there.

Suggestions: VarsityTutors, BrainFuse, Owl Learning Solutions

Are you good at writing resumes and cover letters from scratch? Nowadays, several companies are looking for in-house and remote resume writers. Some require a certain certification and previous resume samples.

Suggestions: Talent Inc, Resume Inc,.

If you are technical or have some experience in technical writing, you could make some serious cash here. A lot of companies hire contract tech writers and a lot of agencies do as well. Just simply do a job search on Indeed with the title technical writer and location REMOTE and you should see plenty. Creative Circle is constantly hiring Tech Writers.

It is not just University of Phoenix that is hiring full time instructors. These days, English as A Second Language Schools, local colleges and universities are on the hunt for instructors and professors to teach online classes. Some do require that you be local and others dont. Start with the colleges in your area. Many require previous teaching experience at the college level first. For college level, you will need at least a Masters degree in your field of study. If you do not have a Masters degree, dont give up. Some K-12 schools are now also hiring full-time online teachers. There are also international schools who look for teachers to teach English to students who are learning English as second language in different countriesvirtually.

Suggestions: Also look into schools that look for teachers to teach in the evenings and weekends such as American International School and TwoSigmas.

Many companies are hiring remote customer service reps. You may not have a flexible schedule and will for sure need child care because you will be required to talk on the phone, but it is still an option.

Suggestions: American Express, U-Haul, Enterprise Rental, or any local companies looking to hire remote employees.

Depending on your background, lots of positions in Real Estate and Home Mortgage are or can be remote; from Loan Officers to Underwriters, it can all be done from home. I personally know a few who have worked from home for years and they love it. If you do not have experience in this field, then obviously necessary training and experience will be needed before you could acquire a work-from-home position on a full-time basis.

I dont know much about this field, but some companies do hire recruiters to work remotely. According to DistanceJobs.com, These days, remote workers are being distinguished from the 3.3 million telecommuting employees in the U.S. because the latter are often expected to appear in the office from time to time. Conversely, remote workers are permanently based far away from the business usually thousands of miles away. The best way to go about it, is to find an agency!

I hope this was helpful! Let me know if I can answer any questions!
