When Gabi Gregg, size 18, posted a photo of herself in a bikini on XOJane.com , along with a bevy of other plus-size women, the response was mixed. Many commenters wrote that they appreciated this display of body diversity. Others accused Gregg, who writes the fashion blog GabiFresh , of promoting obesity and of being too toned to represent overweight women as a group.

This morning Gregg appeared on the "Today" show to talk about body image and address the criticism.

After Today" anchor Tamron Hall introduced the segment with the admission that the closest she gets to wearing a bikini is using a toenail polish called "Teeny Bikini," Gregg told her, "I love my body. I think we should reject these fashion rules about what we are and what we are not allowed to wear ... We have to be happy with the bodies that we have right now." Gregg added that she is not trying to lose weight but is promoting a healthy lifestyle. "You can be any size and be happy with your weight, and that doesn't mean you're not practicing healthy habits," she said. Watch the full clip above.
