Heading into Tuesday night's Iowa caucuses, the race for the Hawkeye State appeared to be heading toward a photo finish. Romney eventually squeaked through to victory by a margin of 8 votes--with a reported 30,015 to Santorum's 30,007.

The race in Iowa has proven unpredictable and recent polls have shown former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum running at the front of the Republican primary pack.

Going into caucus night, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, U.S Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), and Texas Gov. Rick Perry found themselves fighting to place in the top three. After investing little time and resources in Iowa, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman was on the ground in New Hampshire on Tuesday ahead of the state's primary election, which will take place next week.
