Jake Tapper is done with President Donald Trump’s lies.
The CNN anchor acknowledged on Friday’s “Real Time with Bill Maher ” that the problem of politicians lying “wasn’t invented on January 20” following Trump’s inauguration.
But he said that in all his years of reporting on politics, he’d “never really seen this level of falsehood, just quantitatively.”
Citing various untruths that Trump has told, such as his baseless claim that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election, Tapper said what made them worse was they were “conspiracy theories based on nothing” that even had “members of his own party distancing themselves from him.”
Tapper also criticized Trump for waging war on the media. “We’re all ‘fake news,’” he said. “All of us except for ‘Fox & Friends.”
