The Republican brother of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is speaking out about his estranged relationship with his brother, but says he wont be campaigning against him.

In an interview Tuesday with NewsNation, Jeff Walz said that while he is opposed to his brothers political views, he doesnt want to influence how his fellow citizens vote.

In a series of Facebook comments, Jeff Walz who has been estranged from the Democratic vice-presidential nominee since 2016 said that his brother is not the type of character who should be in power and claimed he is 100% opposed to his brothers ideology, according to the New York Post .

But Walz told NewsNation that he now doesnt want to be in any political campaign, and said his posts were only intended to let friends know that he didnt share his brothers views.

It wasnt my intent, it wasnt our intent as a family, to put something out there to influence the general public, Walz told the network.

I used Facebook, which wasnt the right platform to do that, he went on. But I will say, I dont agree with his policies.

Walz had implied in his Facebook posts that he had stories suggesting that his younger brother isnt the type of character you want making decisions about your future. But in the segment Wednesday, he admitted to NewsNation that he didnt have any political bombshells just some stomach-turning anecdotes.

Nobody wanted to sit with him, because he had car sickness and would always throw up on us, that sort of thing, Walz said. Theres really nothing else hidden behind there. People are assuming something else. Theres other stories like that, but I think that probably gives you the gist of it.

Walz declined to say who hell vote for.

HuffPost has reached out to Walzs campaign.
