Second couple Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff have captured hearts across the country with their supportive modern marriage and blended family .

The vice president met Emhoff, a lawyer, in 2013 on a blind date set up by one of her best friends. They married the following year at a Santa Barbara, California, courthouse when they were both two months shy of 50 years old. (Their birthdays are a week apart.)
