Australian singer Kim David Smith is steaming things up in his new video, "Shooting Star," and The Huffington Post has an exclusive first look.

The "neo-Weimar, cabaret-pop" performer goes shirtless in the clip, which also seems him sharing a passionate embrace with a handsome suitor. The song, which appears on Smith's 2013 album, "Nova ," and 2015's "Supernova ," was inspired by the early stages of his relationship with opera performer William Ferguson , who is now his husband .

The self-professed "homonormative " star said he sought a "deep space" feeling for the video, which was shot at the OUT NYC Hotel and directed by the sibling team, Brendan and Kyle Ranson-Walsh.

Smith hopes the video will whet New York audiences' appetite for his upcoming performance. "Stargazing," which hits Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre on Oct. 8, is billed as an "intimately electronic reimagining" of music by the likes of Marlene Dietrich, Kylie Minogue and Madonna, and will also feature original tunes.
