In the new issue of Attitude magazine Lady Gaga once again addresses speculation surrounding her bisexuality and discusses what it really means to be a gay icon.

Mother Monster has been on the defensive lately about her bisexual identity, having recently told a crowd at Berghain Club in Berlin, Germany, that her bisexuality is "not a lie." This week, she told Attitude that:

I mean, I am bisexual, Ive said it before, Ill say it again. I dont need to - Im sorry if this is a bit vulgar but I dont need to eat pussy in front of the whole world for people to take me seriously. You can believe it or not, its just here, Im honest. Im not saying it to be controversial; there you have it, here I am, take it or leave it. I know I am not just a lesbian - I have a boyfriend - but all of my friends are in this community.

Gaga has long been seen as an ally and supporter of the queer community, having previously spoken out before the striking down of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that called on lawmakers to repeal the legislation. However, despite her long-standing supportive history , Gaga doesn't necessarily consider herself a gay icon.

She also told Attitude:

But but but but here, where do I say Im a gay icon? I never said I was a gay icon. When did that happen? Are those lyrics on the album? Absolutely not. I dont even consider myself I dont even know what that word means. That was a label that was invented years ago. Im a... [Pauses] Im a gay supporter.
