Letitia Wright insists she has no ties to The Daily Wire and distanced herself from the right-wing platforms involvement in her recently-produced film, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.

Wright who serves as an executive producer on Sound of Hope took to social media Saturday to note that Angel Studios, a producer of Christian-themed movies like Sound of Freedom, was initially brought on board to distribute the film prior to partnering with The Daily Wires streaming service.

That was not my decision, and I was not given an update or made aware of this decision, wrote the Black Panther star, who added that shes in no way aligned or affiliated with the right-wing platform.

I am thankful for all who want to positively champion this film and campaign to serve children. However, I do not condone using this beautiful film for divisive political purposes. That is not why I joined the project.

The Peacetree Productions film, which hit theaters last week, is inspired by the story of Bishop W. C. Martin and Donna Martin, who led an effort to adopt 77 children in East Texas.

He continued, Letitia and I probably dont share the same politics, but I believe we share a Christian faith and, more importantly, the same goal of shining a light on something we can all agree on - a community banding together to help kids in need. We hope people dont allow this distraction to steal from the message from the film and the impact it can have. Everyone should see this movie and join the fight for kids. Its too important not to.

Jordan Harmon, president of Angel Studios, wrote in a statement to multiple media outlets that the company is grateful for Wright along with the right-wing platforms partnership.

Wright has previously sparked controversy after she shared and deleted an anti-vaccine video in late 2020.
