A frightening moment was caught on camera last week when a police helicopter crashed on takeoff at a training center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The pilot, retired officer William Bill Denio, was seriously injured , according to local ABC station KATV.

The Little Rock Police Department said in a Facebook post that the pilot was performing a maintenance check before the accident.
